Principals Welcome
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou, Greetings to you all
Welcome to Maramarua School - A Great Place To Be.
Aim High – Kia kaha, kiau, kia angitu. This is our school vision and guides us all in the responsibility we collectively share as a learning community for our tamariki/children.
No he kakano iti, E puawai ana he Kahikatea! From a small seed, a tall tree will blossom.
We aspire to create a learning culture and environment that supports our children to grow in their lives and their learning. This is achieved through high levels of collaboration, a focus on using evidence to inform our decisions, and through explicit development of a positive school culture.
We work hard to acknowledge and celebrate the successes of our children for both in their learning and behaviour. We focus on the strategic development of our Maramarua School Learner, acknowledging the key competencies and these values:
Participation
Respect
Integrity
Determination
Empathy
We strive to be an inclusive community and warmly welcome parents and whanau to share the ‘learning journey’ with teachers and students. Developing a strong sense of whanau, community, and belonging is at the centre of our focus on growing partnerships. We believe that it’s essential that we all work together to help the children in the school community grow in their lives and learning.
The school is well governed by a united and supportive Board of Trustees who represent our diverse community. Our school is future focussed, which is an exciting time in the life of our school, reflecting years of hard work and focus.
You are encouraged to come in and visit our school and talk with your child’s teachers about their learning and life at school. Please ring and make an appointment to meet with me if you would like a look around the school. We always enjoy an opportunity to share our great school whenever we can.
Naku noa ra,

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Maramarua School is a full primary school catering for Year 1-8 students. Our small rural school is situated on State Highway 2, Maramarua, which is 30 minutes east of Pukekohe, 45 minutes south of Manukau City and 30 minutes west of Thames. We have a superior range of buildings and facilities for a school with a current roll of around 67 students. Our student - teacher ratio is excellent.
We have a 30 metre swimming pool (almost 3m deep at the deep end) with a full length 4-tier grandstand, along with changing rooms.
The large grass play area includes two full size rugby fields with sufficient room for more playing areas. Our courts are fully astro-turfed and we have extensive playgrounds and a mini putt golf course. There is a planted native tree area, as well as extensive vegetable gardens cared for by the students. We are a silver enviro school, which influences our contexts of study so that we are using real life learning experiences to engage and motivate our students ,as they learn about their environment and their role within it.
Adjacent to the school is the Maramarua Playcentre which provides a fabulous transition from preschool to primary school.
In addition to the usual hustle and bustle of a primary school, Maramarua School also provides technology education for Year 7 & 8 students from 8 surrounding schools, with approximately 250 students attending technology classes on a fortnightly rotation.
Some great features of Maramarua School are:
A family atmosphere.
Fabulous facilities including heat pumps for all classrooms and large screens in all classrooms.
Great staff.
Happy, friendly and enthusiastic students.
Modern and up-to-date ICT equipment and resources with 1-1 devices for students.
A wide range of exciting EOTC and sporting opportunities.
Engaging and exciting school trips and camps.
An in-depth and fun Taha Maori programme.
A fun and inclusive culture where students love coming to school and learning.
